Illustrative poster design (Edit)

After asking people about my last poster design most people agreed that the bottom right corner of the picture was missing something. So I decided to re-visit my design to try and fill in the gap. I found it quite difficult deciding on what to put into the gap. Firstly I tried adding a quotation from the character but it looked visually devoid from the rest of the picture. Then I decided to create a background using colours similar to the original background colours. The background consist of simple vector shapes using only flat colour and no outlines, this draws the viewers eye to rest of the image but also fills the gap effectively so that the image looks complete. I'm really pleased with how well the background has work. It isn't at all distracting but it seems to complete the images composition.
