Source SDK Map Editing


Quite a while ago I did some work in Valve's map editor 'Hammer'. I've made several maps over the years but the one below is the one I'm currently most proud of. I learnt how to script A.I. triggers and give certain brush types different environmental properties such as glass and wood. I was also really happy with the pacing of the map, the level gets gradually more difficult with an increase of enemies. The player also gets access to a variety of better weapons as they progress. I'm also quite proud of the detail in this level, obviously the quality of the map doesn't come close to valve's maps but as a novice I think I've done quite well. If I find the time I would definitely like to make some more maps in hammer perhaps even a decent multi-player map.
